Deserving Rides – Rebuilding Rides to Rebuild Lives! Of 72 people nominated, the 2016 winner of the free car is Community Action, Inc. board member and volunteer Bob Geist!
Bob uses his retirement to volunteer and solicit donations for Twin Oaks Shelter for The Homeless. He has had to reduce his involvement over the past six months due to a lack of transportation. Not only will this help Bob while he’s collecting donations on behalf of Twin Oaks, hundreds of residents will benefit, too.
Deserving Rides knows everyone this time of year goes through some tough times, whether it’s illness, loss of a job or facing many other challenges in your lives. There are good people in our community who are just down on their luck. Deserving Rides is so proud to award Bob, a deserving person, a reliable car!
WHAT IS DESERVING RIDES?
Deserving Rides is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2014 by Tony Lynn, owner of Advanced Auto Clinic. Inspired by the deep gratitude he felt for the communities he lived and worked in, Tony created Deserving Rides as a way to pass on the value of giving back.
The mission is simple but powerful: find used vehicles, restore them to safe, reliable condition, and gift them to individuals and families who truly deserve a lift—those who consistently put others before themselves. Each giveaway is a celebration of compassion, resilience, and community spirit.
Deserving Rides is more than just transportation—it’s Tony’s way of saying thank you to a community that has given so much, and a reminder that kindness and support can drive real change.
